We're looking for technically versatile support staff to join our expanding team in Huddersfield. We offer a relaxed working environment and a competitive salary. This role is for an all-round technical support role for which we will provide the training required. You must be able to demonstrate a clear aptitude for all things computer related, specifically commandline.
Responsibilities
- Dealing with customers over the phone, email and remote desktop
- Working from a ticketing system and accurately logging all work and support queries
- Working though set support tasks via procedures
- Maintaining and troubleshooting Linux and Windows servers
- Linux server administration via SSH
- Windows server administration
- OS/Application/Server debugging and problem solving
- Develop & document new solutions for different customers
- Analyze issues & create solutions for HW & SW problems
- Varying project work
Essential
- Must be a fast learner. Able to pick up new skills and work methods quickly.
- Work in a results-driven environment where time is key
- Some linux commandline knowledge
- Knowledge of a scripting language such as bash, perl, php or python
- Must have a very good memory, ability to recall details and procedures using minimal notes
- You must enjoy solving difficult problems and working on different computer platforms
You will also have
- Able to speak clearly on a technical and non technical basis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good technical troubleshooting skills
Desirable
- Degree in Computer Science or related subject
- Experience with Linux and or Windows
